“Incidentals” (blog)
“I’m an idealist. I don’t know where I’m going, but I’m on my way.” Carl Sandburg, Incidentals (1907)
November 10th…Peggy and Steve’s event sailed by flawlessly! That might sound conceited, however, what you may not understand is all of the “behind the scenes” work and collaboration that goes on with the staff here. It really does “take a village” to prepare the mansion for the kind of event that each bride envisions. Some events are all about minute detail and others more about the “big picture”.
The staff here enumerates only about 5 daily personnel and one might question that number when you take into consideration setting up tables, chairs (CH-ARS…as one hardy, english learning individual repeats upon set up!),table covers, centerpieces, etc. Up keep of a mansion, 8 bathrooms and dust bunnies that procreate on a regular basis, would be daunting for anyone. I must say though they “had my back” at this event.
Peggy being so easy going (she and Steve having been through this before), was enjoyable to work with. Her sisters were a great help and an obvious support to her on this special day. Steves’ out of town “buddies” were entertaining from the moment the showed up the day before for rehearsal. Everyone should have as loyal a set of friends, flying in from all over the country!
Peggy radiated in a beautiful blush mauve strapless gown and cropped jacket to match. Steve educated the rest of the groomsmen on attaching “tuxedo buttons” as I pinned on boutineers. He was one of the calmer grooms I have had recently. Steve smiled a mile long when she approached he and the minister flanked by her two sons.
DJ’s Joe and Tim moved things along all night long mixing tunes from the 60’s to the present. Thank goodness for REAL dance music! (My biggest pet peeve….)
Can’t wait to see the pictures. I’m sure Bryan and www.BeautyInArt.com will truly present just how it was….of course that includes the delicious offerings of Chef Rick, Bob, and David our ever loyal, hardworking, kind, spectacular, special (ok…I’m laying it on a bit thick)catering staff…love that quiche! =)
Ciao!
